Camp Whittier provides a well-organized and safe environment, boasting 30 years of experience hosting science camps. Staff are available 24/7 for first aid, and there are guided excursions and educational activities aligned with 6th-grade science and core standards. Plus, there are games, free time, and traditional camp activities. It's an unforgettable experience that allows students to bond with peers and staff in a meaningful way, which may lead to greater success in their future educational experiences. What should I do now?

Consider initiating a savings plan for your child's camp expenses. If you're considering sending your child to camp, here's some helpful information. While the camp can be costly, the experience is invaluable.

In the past, Jimenez School supported the science camp financially because the initial costs were high and couldn't be covered quickly by students and parents. However, the plan has always been to gradually decrease this support over time. As each new group of 6th graders comes in, they'll have more time to fundraise or receive contributions from parents, reducing the financial burden.

My student is not yet in 6th grade, but learning about the costs associated with going to a 6th-grade science camp will ensure that my student can attend if I choose to let them.  (Camp and busing costs may vary from year to year.)

My payment covers:  Camp Whittier’s fee, bussing, and chaperone fees

When do I pay for my child?   Payment will be due several weeks before camp.  Actual payment due date will depend on when camp occurs.  

One way to save enough for your student's science camp is to follow the home savings plan designed for their current grade level.

◈Final Cost total will depend on the number of students who attend.

Student Medication 

If your student will require the administration of perscribed medication while at camp, or if your student has asthma/allergies requiring medication, please print this form, take it to the doctor who prescribed the medication, and have their office fill out the appropriate information.  Please return it to the Jimenez office.

Chaperone Opportunities/Requirements

If you are interested in being a chaperone, please print, fill out, and return these forms to the Jimenez office. Please complete and return approxamently 7 weeks prior to field trip.

Step 1: Complete and return Chaperone Agreement Form.

Step 2: Complete and return School Volunteer  Application. (must mark level C on form)

Step 3: Schedule TB test. Return results to the front office. The TB test is approximately $25.00. 

Step 4: You will recieve a call to be scheduled for a Live Scan / Background check. The fingerprint background test costs approximately $65.00.
